Frequently asked questions

Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance directly. However, we can provide a superbill for reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits.

Why are you out of network?

At Dr. B Psychiatry & Wellness, we’ve chosen to operate as an out-of-network practice so we can offer the highest quality, personalized care without the limitations that often come with insurance-based models.

Insurance companies frequently place restrictions on session length, frequency, and types of treatment. By staying out of network, we can:

  • Take the time you deserve during evaluations and follow-ups

  • Provide truly individualized treatment without rushed appointments

  • Maintain full clinical independence in decision-making

  • Focus on collaboration and continuity—not paperwork or authorizations

This model allows us to prioritize your wellbeing, not insurance billing requirements.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes. All appointments at Dr. B Psychiatry & Wellness are currently offered via secure video conferencing. This allows for flexible, accessible care from the comfort of your home or office.

Do I need to live in a specific state to receive care?

Yes. Due to medical licensing laws, Dr. B can only provide care to individuals located in Pennsylvania at the time of the appointment. You must physically be in PA during each visit, even if you're a resident elsewhere.

How often are appointments needed for medication management?

Typical follow up frequency is between monthly to quarterly depending on your current needs.

When is the appointment fee processed?

For initial appointments including consults, $200 is collected at the time of booking and the balance will be processed the day of the appointment. For follow up visits, the fee is processed the day of the appointment.

What is the policy for missed appointments or late cancellations?

Missed appointments or cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance will incur the full appointment fee.

Do you provide emergency services?

This practice is not available for emergency services and does not have an emergency hotline that is answered after hours. Portal, email, and phone communication is not appropriate for urgent matters.

If you should have a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. If you are in a mental health crisis please call 911 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988.
